Sam Bush (born April 13, 1952 in Bowling Green, Kentucky ) is an American bluegrass musician. Sam Bush plays mandolin, violin, guitar, banjo and sings. From 1971 to 1989 he was a member of the New Grass Revival band, which he co-founded . In 1985 Sam Bush released his first solo album. He is one of the world's top mandolin players and is one of the co-founders of the Telluride Bluegrass Festival , which has been held annually in June in Telluride (Colorado) since 1973 . Because of his annual appearance there, Sam Bush is also called the "King of Telluride" in the bluegrass scene. Sam Bush plays a modified 1937 Gibson F-5 mandolin called "Hoss".
