Mark A. Brandes

Mark A. Brandes (born October 20, 1929 in Frankenau ; † November 14, 2011 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) was a German archaeologist from the Near East .

Life

Brandes, born in Frankenau in 1929, graduated from Heidelberg with Adam Falkenstein , where he received his doctorate in 1959. He then taught at the University of Freiburg , where he completed his habilitation in 1968 and taught as professor for Near Eastern Archeology from 1980 until his retirement in 1994.

Mark A. Brandes died on November 14, 2011 at the age of 82.
