Samer Tawk (born September 3, 1998 in Bcharri ) is a Lebanese cross-country skier .

Career

Tawk made his international debut in February 2017 at FIS races in Sapporo , Japan . In December 2017 he started at the open Austrian championships in Seefeld in Tirol and finished 94th after 15 km. At the 2018 Junior World Championships in Goms , he reached 97th place in the sprint and 94th place over the 10 km. Two weeks later, after successfully qualifying at an FIS race in Erzurum in December 2017, he started at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang. After he had carried the flag of his team at the opening ceremony, he started only over the 15 km in the free technique and finished in 109th place. He was the first Lebanese cross-country skier to compete in the Olympics.

In March 2018, Tawk won his first national sprint title at the Lebanese Championships. He also won the silver medal over the 10 km. The following year he defended his sprint title and also won the individual distance race.
