Samira Zargari (born April 4, 1983 ) is an Iranian alpine and former grass skier . In 2005 she took part in the Grass Ski World Championships , achieved three top 5 placements in the Grass Ski World Cup and became the Iranian Slalom Champion in Alpine skiing in 2007.

Career

Zargari contested her first international grass ski race in August 2005 in Branná, Czech Republic . At these FIS races she was eleventh in the Super-G, the slalom and the giant slalom, but she could not finish. Four weeks later, she took part in the 2005 World Cup in Dizin , Iran , where her only result was twelfth place in the Super-G. In the giant slalom she was eliminated in the first round and in the slalom she was disqualified after a goal error, which is why she did not make it into the classification in the combination. After she had not participated in any competitions in the 2006 season, Zargari started in July 2007 in Dizin for the first time in World Cup races . In the absence of most of the top runners, she reached fourth place in the Super-G and in the giant slalom, which brought her to twelfth place in the 2007 season overall . In the 2008 season she only took part in the World Cup races in her home country and was fifth in the giant slalom and sixth in the Super-G. In the overall ranking she finished 14th with her compatriot Mitra Kalhor, tied for points . In the 2009 season , in addition to the races in Dizin, where this time she was only tenth and last in the Super-G and failed in the giant slalom, she also took part in the World Cup giant slalom in Maria Gugging, Austria, in which she did not finish. In the overall ranking she finished 20th and last place together with Latvian Rūta Irbe Tropa . After 2009 she did not take part in any grass ski races.

In alpine skiing, Zargari has been taking part in FIS races since 2006, mainly in Iran and Turkey. So far she has won five FIS slaloms and in April 2007 she became Iranian slalom champion.
