Sampson Sievers
Sampson Sievers , born as Edward Graf von Sievers ( Russian Сампсон Сиверс ; born July 10, 1900 in Saint Petersburg , † August 24, 1979 in Moscow ), was a famous monk and priest of the Russian Orthodox Church .
Life
He was the son of Count Esper Alexander von Sievers and the Englishwoman Mabel Annie Gare.
Sampson Sievers comes from the noble Sievers family and grew up in the high circles of Russian tsarist society . He was able to speak English , German , French and Greek fluently in his youth . After the Russian Revolution in 1917 he was arrested several times and imprisoned for years . He worked as a monk and priest in St. Petersburg and Mordovia , among other places , where he became well known as a “miracle healer”.
