The Australian artist John Barrie Dyke grew up in Melbourne , but has lived in Germany since the early 1990s, now in Berlin. Dyko was founded in 2003. The music and the visuals used in the performances are created in close collaboration with the German Christofer Jost.

Dyko have been touring regularly since their founding and have performed in more than 40 countries, including Club B2 in Moscow , Club 103 and Club Maria in Berlin , the Rote Fabrik in Zurich and the Exit Festival in Serbia as well as in the framework of the Initiative Germany - Land of Ideas at the German-Chinese POP Festival in Nanjing , where they worked with German bands such as Juli , 2raumwohnung , Tele and MIA. stood on the stage.

Dyko's music reflects John Barrie Dyke's particular passion for everyday German culture and language. Concerts under the auspices of the Goethe Institute took place in Toronto, Estonia and Poland, among others. The dissemination of German as a foreign language should also be supported, for example through an appearance at the “Languages ​​Without Borders” conference of the Canadian Association of Second Language Teachers (CASLT) in Edmonton, Canada. The release party for the single okay took place on August 28, 2009 at the Goethe-Institut in New York .

The red fitter-like suits are an integral part of the performances, because Dyko's working method is based on the Bauhaus concept of “designer as technician” and is dedicated to electro-pop and new wave of the 1970s and 80s.
