Samsø Sogn is the parish municipality ( Danish Sogn ) on the same Danish island of Samsoe .

Until 1962, the island formed the Harde Samsø Herred in Holbæk Amt , which consisted of the five Sogns Besser Sogn , Kolby Sogn , Nordby Sogn , Onsbjerg Sogn and Tranebjerg Sogn .

In 1962, the five parishes on the island were amalgamated to form Samsø Kommune , which was transferred to the Århus Office in 1970 and to the Midtjylland region on January 1, 2007 during the municipal reform . The independence of the five Sogne was not canceled until 2014 when they merged to form Samsø Sogn.

3,657 inhabitants live in the parish, 814 of them in Tranebjerg , 213 in Nordby and 229 in Onsbjerg (as of January 1, 2020).

In the parish are the churches "Tranebjerg Kirke", "Kolby Kirke", "Onsbjerg Kirke" and "Ørby Kirke".
