Samtawissi ( Georgian სამთავისი ; sɑmtʰɑvɪsɪ ) is a village in Georgia , in the Inner Kartlien region , in the municipality of Kaspi .

It is located on the left bank of the Lechura River and is 11 kilometers from the Kaspi Municipal Administrative Center . The village has 532 inhabitants (2014). In the village there is a medieval Georgian cathedral of the same name . Archaeological excavations are taking place in Samtawissi, near the cathedral.
