Samuel Grass Sr. (* July 11, 1653 in Breslau ; † June 29, 1730 ibid) was a city ​​physician in Breslau and a member of the academy of scholars " Leopoldina ".

Life

Samuel Grass the Elder was a respondent at the University of Jena under Georg Wolfgang Wedel in 1677 . He then turned to the University of Padua (January 1678). He was a doctor of philosophy and medicine. He was physicus in Jena and later first physicus in Breslau. He was married to Rosina Grass, who came from a family of printers in Breslau. One of his sons was Samuel Grass the younger. He was also a doctor and a member of the “Leopoldina” academy of scholars. Another son was the lawyer Benjamin Grass. The daughter was Rosina Grass, married Sommer.

On January 31, 1694, Samuel Grass (senior) with the nickname MESPHE II. Or MESUE II. Was accepted as a member ( matriculation no. 204 ) in the Leopoldina .
