Maximilian Preuss

Maximilian Preuss (born March 10, 1652 in Fraustadt , Poland ; † September 6, 1721 in Breslau , Silesia) was a German physician, Physicus in Breslau and a member of the academy of scholars " Leopoldina ".

Maximilian Preuss (also: Preuss) studied medicine in Leipzig, where he disputed under Michael Ettmüller in 1676 . He then turned to Padua and received his doctorate from the Collegium venetum. He then became physicus of the royal city of Fraustadt in Poland and later chief physicus in Breslau. He also dealt with philosophy. His son was Gottfried Benjamin Preuss , who like his father became a member of the "Leopoldina".

On October 6, 1695, Maximilian Preuss, nicknamed Iapis I, was accepted as a member ( matriculation number 218 ) of the German Academy of Natural Scientists Leopoldina.
