Samuel Kofi Yeboah

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Samuel Kofi Yeboah (born September 6, 1964 in Ghana; † September 19, 1991 in Saarlouis , Germany ) died in an arson attack on an asylum seeker accommodation in Saarlouis- Fraulautern, which had not been resolved as of December 22, 2013 . Neither evidence nor circumstantial evidence was found for a racially motivated crime . Due to the unclear factual situation, the city administration takes the view that Yeboah is "adequately appreciated by the tombstone". In contrast, the case is included in the overall list of the Amadeu Antonio Foundationrun as racially motivated. The federal government also classifies the act as a "politically right-wing act of violence", according to a response to a major question from Bundestag member Petra Pau.

During a demonstration on September 19, 2001, a stone slab was attached to the listed town hall facade without the owner's permission. This was removed by the city administration, which prevailed in 2005 before the district court of Saarbrücken in a compensation process against the organizers of the demonstration.

  2. Cf. radio broadcast by the SR on the 20th anniversary of Samuel Yeboah's death, September 19, 2011. Roland Röder calls for a clearer commemoration, since Yeboah “died in an attack in the middle of the city”.
