Samuel Kristeller
Samuel Kristeller (born May 26, 1820 in Xions , Posen Province , † July 15, 1900 in Berlin ) was a German-Jewish gynecologist .
After studying medicine at the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität zu Berlin, Kristeller worked as a doctor in Gnesen from 1844 . In the 1850s he moved back to Berlin, where he became a private lecturer at the university in 1860 and later head of the gynecological department at the Charité .
In 1867 he was awarded the title of Medical Council , in 1873 that of the Secret Medical Council. In 1868 he joined the Society of Friends . From 1882 to 1896 he was President of the German-Israelite Community Association .
Samuel Kristeller was buried in the Jewish cemetery on Schönhauser Allee .
