San Bautista is a city in Uruguay .

geography

It is located in the northern part of the Canelones Department in sector 12 . San Bautista lies northeast of the department capital Canelones and Santa Rosa and east of San Antonio and Mevir Paso de la Cadena . Closest city to the north is Castellanos . Both the Arroyo Canelón Grande and the Arroyo Colorado Grande have their source in the urban area , while the Arroyo Pando rises a few kilometers east of the city .

On June 20, 1901, San Bautista was classified in the "Pueblo" category by Law No 2,699.
