The Arroyo Pando is a river in the south of Uruguay .
The left tributary of the Río de la Plata rises about two kilometers east of San Bautista and flows north-south in the area of the Canelones department between the seaside resorts of El Pinar and Neptunia . In the area of the estuary, a large sandbar makes it difficult for the water to run off, which - in combination with a lack of spatial planning - has resulted in the coastal section of Neptunia being increasingly exposed to erosion . This has already resulted in the destruction of several houses built there. The size of the catchment area of the Arroyo Pando is around 973 km².
