San Francisco del Monte de Oro is the capital of the Ayacucho department in the San Luis Province in western Argentina . It is located 115 kilometers north of the provincial capital San Luis in a valley between the Sierras de San Luis and the Sierras de Socoscora . The valley is traversed by the Río San Francisco .
Worth seeing
- Ranchito de Domingo Faustino Sarmiento . In memory of the Argentine writer and president Domingo Faustino Sarmiento, there is a small thatched ranchito made of adobe bricks in which he taught at one corner of the Banda Sur square .
