San Gregorio is a municipality in the south of Chile . It is located in the province of Magallanes , which in turn belongs to the Región de Magallanes y de la Antártica Chilena .

San Gregorio is located on the north side of the Strait of Magellan at its eastern end facing the Atlantic . In the north, San Gregorio borders on Argentina , in the west on Laguna Blanca and the port city of Punta Arenas .

Attractions
There are shipwrecks from the 19th century in the region. The ship Ambassador was a tea freighter that was built in London in 1869 and stranded at San Gregorio in 1896. Amadeo was a steamship built in Liverpool in 1884 and ran aground near San Gregorio in 1932.
