San Paolo della Croce a Corviale is a parish and titular church in the Roman suburbio Gianicolense . The church is dedicated to Saint Paul of the Cross .

history

When the Corviale was built in 1975–1982, it was considered a forward-looking construction project for the working class. It is a one kilometer long, nine-story building with 1200 apartments. Like other large housing estates of this type before him, however, the building became a social hotspot .

In 1977 the parish was founded. Parish church was first the current branch church of San Franceso Saverio a Somaini . The church, built according to plans by Ennio Canino , was completed in 1983.

On May 25, 1985, Pope John Paul II elevated the church to the title church.
