Sanctuaire Notre Dame de Grace
Sanctuaire Notre-Dame-de-Grâce is a monastery in Rochefort du Gard ( Gard department ) in Occitania in France. It is protected as a monument historique .
It was first mentioned (at that time as a chapel) in 798. In 1637 the Benedictine order took over the church and founded a monastery, which was closed in 1790. From 1815 to 1964 the monastery served the Marists .
Today's appearance goes back to the reconstruction in 1696. A somewhat fortified Way of the Cross surrounds the monastery at the foot of the walls.
The monastery offers 60 beds for visitors and has been managed by the diocese of Nîmes since 2006 .
