The Sandford Glacier is a glacier on the Banzare coast of the East Antarctic Wilkesland . It flows 40 km south-south-west of Cape Morse into the east side of Porpoise Bay .
Aerial photographs of Operation Highjump (1946–1947) were used to map it. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1955 after Joseph Perry Sanford [sic!] (1816-1901), Passed Midshipman on the Porpoise in the United States Exploring Expedition (1838-1842) under the direction of Charles Wilkes .
