Sandy Scheuer's death in song lyrics

Shortly after Scheuer's death, the English songwriter Harvey Andrews wrote the song Hey Sandy, dedicated to her :

"Did you see them turn, did you feel the burn
: Of the bullets as they flew"

“Did you see them turn around? Did you feel the burning of the flying bullets? "

The refrain of the classic protest song "Ohio", written by Neil Young a few weeks after the massacre, also alludes to Scheuer's death:

“Gotta get down to it
Soldiers are cutting us down
Should've been done long ago.
What if you knew her,
And found her dead on the ground,
How can you run when you know? "

“Let's get down to business: soldiers slaughter us, it should have happened long ago. If you had known her, found her dead on the floor, how can you run away when you know that? "
