Sandra Ortega Mera (born July 19, 1968 in A Coruña ) is a Spanish heiress. In mid-2019, her net worth was estimated at $ 6.6 billion , making her the second richest person in Spain .
Life
Sandra Ortega Mera is the daughter of Amancio Ortega , founder of Inditex and one of the richest people in the world, and his first wife, Rosalía Mera . Ortega holds a degree in Psychology from the University of Santiago de Compostela .
After the death of her mother Rosalía Mera in 2013, Ortega inherited 7% of the shares in Inditex and became the richest woman in Spain. Ortega spends a lot of time with the Fundación Paideia Galiza, which her mother founded for people with mental and physical disabilities. Her own brother Marcos is severely disabled.
Ortega is married with three children and lives in A Coruña.
