Sandra Wöhe (* 1959 in Oudewater , Netherlands ) is a German-speaking writer , journalist and columnist . Her texts are published in Switzerland, Germany and Austria.

biography

Sandra Wöhe comes from an Asian-European family who came to the Netherlands from Indonesia in the 1950s. As the oldest of four children, Sandra Wöhe initially grew up in a purely women's household. These first six years of life in Oudewater had a lasting impact on her life and writing. In 1965 the new family moved to the Federal Republic of Germany. Sandra Wöhe went to school here. In her childhood and youth she lived between the Netherlands and Germany.

1981 married Sandra Wöhe. In the following year she emigrated with her husband to Pfäfers ( Canton St. Gallen ) in Switzerland. There she worked as a qualified nurse in the cantonal psychiatric clinic St. Pirminsberg. A year later she moved to Zurich and soon divorced.

In 1993 she began studying journalism at the School for Applied Linguistics in Zurich ( SAL ). At the same time, she studied feminist theology and completed the inter-university advanced training program “ Public Health ”.

In 2003 Sandra Wöhe published her debut novel in Ulrike Helmer Verlag . Let me be your pizza explores the blurred lines between the lesbian and straight women's world. The book was a surprise success and developed into a long seller.

Three years later, the bankruptcy book publisher Claudia Gehrke published Giraffe im Nadelöhr . The romance novel is about "wild sex" in the women's vacation center that messes up a relationship. The (unabridged) MP3 audio book with the same title was spoken by Nela Bartsch.

Women became a central theme in Sandra Wöhe's novels. Another motif is “ To feel at home in a foreign country - how does integration work in everyday life?” This is also the subject of her third novel, which the author published again in the bankruptcy book publisher Claudia Gehrke. The Indonesian sisters tell of a family who comes to the Lower Rhine from Indonesia with a German passport. The Indonesian sisters speak without an accent - but the village sees their "almond eyes" and knows.

With her most recent novel, Five Years Later, Sandra Wöhe addresses a taboo subject. Five years later, Beate's cancer can no longer be proven. But life as before - how is that supposed to work? Cancer is a lesson that cannot be learned. This book was also published by the bankruptcy book publisher Claudia Gehrke.
