The Sandy Glacier (English for Sandy Glacier ) is a very small glacier in the East Antarctic Victoria Land with a length of 600 m and a width of 75 m . In the Olympus Range , it is 1 km east of Mount Orestes .
The American geologist Wakefield Dort Jr. (* 1923) from the University of Kansas explored it between 1965 and 1966 as part of the United States Antarctic Research Program . It is named after the layers of sand embedded in the ice of the glacier.
