Karl Sanfrid Viktor Welin (born December 11, 1855 in Ekeskogs , † January 13, 1954 in Skara ) was a Swedish museum director, teacher and school director.

Life

Welin graduated from Norra Latin in Stockholm in 1878 and became a student at Lund University in 1879 . 1885–1886 he was a teacher at Åsa folkhögskola and from 1886 to 1896 at Molkoms folkhögskola . In 1892 he founded the women's school in Värmland and was its director until 1896. In 1895 he re-founded the adult education center in Älvsborgs län and was its director until 1921. He then founded the regional school in 1905 and was its director until 1912. After that he was headmaster until 1921.

He became a corresponding member of the Kungliga Vitterhets Historie och Antikvitets Academies in 1920. In the same year he became a curator at the Västergötland Museum . He was a member of the second house of parliament for the Lantmanna och borgarpartiet 1914–1920 (vice chairman of the committee on incumbent schools) and lay delegate for the Diocese of Skarabei to the Assembly of the Church in 1926. He was a Knight of the North Star Order .
