Sangisälven (also Sangis älv ) is a river in Norrbotten County in northern Sweden .

The river bears the name Raitajoki in its upper reaches . This flows into the lake Miekojärvi .

As Kukasjoki , it leaves this in a southerly direction, flows through several smaller lakes and is then called Sangisälven from Lappträsk . Its largest tributary, Korpikån , meets the Sangisälven at Björkfors . South of Sangis , the river finally flows into the Sangisfjärden , a bay in the Gulf of Bothnia .

The catchment area covers 1230 km².

The river forms the language border with Tornedal Finnish . Sangisälven is suitable for paddling .
