The Marian Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima in Zakopane (Polish Sanctuary Matki Bożej Fatimskiej ) was built in the years 1987 to 1992 as a votive church after the assassination attempt on Pope John Paul II in the postmodern style with the influence of the Zakopane style . In 1997 the consecration took place under the patronage of Our Lady of Fatima by Pope John Paul II. The church serves as a parish church. The Fatima Park was laid out around the church. A smaller copy of the summit cross on the Wielki Giewont was set up in front of the church .

Geographical location

The church is located on the western arterial road DW958 in Zakopane district Krzeptówki in Vortatragraben at the foot of the Tatra immediately below the massif of the Giewont .
