Santa Fe-82

The multi-purpose cargo ship type Santa Fe of the shipbuilding group Astilleros Espanoles was built in around 50 units in the 1970s.

details

The ship type was developed by Astilleros Espanoles in the late 1960s and built in the variants Santa Fe 77 , Santa Fe 80 and Santa Fe 82 at several shipyards until the end of the 1970s .

The ships, around 159 meters long and 22.80 meters wide on frames, had five cargo holds with an intermediate deck and a bulk cargo volume of 29,230 m 3 and a ball room of 27,400 m 3 . The standard Sulzer 5RTA 58 two-stroke main engine developed 9,600 hp and allowed a speed of around 15 knots ; on request, the ships could be equipped with Sulzer 5RND 68M engines with 9,500 hp, or the more powerful Sulzer 7RLB 56 with 10,500 hp, the higher one Speeds made possible. The basic design of the ships with superstructures arranged aft and four electro-hydraulic 16-tonne ship's slewing cranes (optionally also four 25-tonne ship's slewing cranes, 5/10-tonne loading gear and heavy lift booms with 40, 60 or 100 tonne load capacity) did not differ fundamentally from contemporary Liberty Replacement ships such as the Japanese Freedom type .
