The Santa Susana Mountains are a mountain range of the Transverse Ranges in southern California in the counties of Los Angeles and Ventura . The mountain range runs from east to west. They are bounded in the north by the San Fernando Valley and the Simi Valley , in the south by the Santa Clara River Valley and in the northeast by the Santa Clarita Valley .

At 1,142 meters above sea level, Oat Mountain is the highest point, followed by Mission Point (845 meters above sea level), Rocky Peak (827 meters above sea level) and Sand Rock Point (765 meters above sea level).

The mountains have a mild to humid climate.
