Santana do Paraíso is a city in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais . It is located on the Rio Doce , about 950 km away from the capital Brasília . In July 2009, 24,695 people lived in Santana do Paraíso on 275.5 km². It is the smallest of the four cities in the Vale do Aço region , which has a population of almost half a million.
