Santiago Carpintero Fernández (born September 28, 1976 in León ) is a former Spanish football player, on the position of central midfielder.
Career
Santiago Carpintero began his professional career in 1995 at Real Oviedo B . From 1997 he played one season each, first with Albacete Balompié , then with FC Cartagena . In 2000 he moved to CD Toledo . After two years Carpintero moved again, this time to the Levante UD . In 2004 he switched to Deportivo Alavés . With Alavés, Santiago Carpintero completed 27 games in the Primera División in the 2005/06 season . After three seasons he moved to Málaga FC for a year . In 2008 Carpintero went to FC Córdoba . There he ended his career in the summer of 2010 at the age of 33.
Achievements and Awards
- 2004/05 promotion to the Primera División with Deportivo Alavés .
