Sara Lazzaro (born September 15, 1984 in Rovolon , Province of Padua ) is an Italian - American film and theater actress .

Life

Sara Lazzaro is the daughter of an Italian father and an American mother. Today she has both nationalities. She spent her childhood and youth between Padua and her mother's homeland, Carmel-by-the-Sea in California . Lazzaro began her acting career as an adult. She first studied visual and performing arts at the Università Iuav di Venezia in Venice and received her Bachelor of Arts .

From 2001 she was on the theater stage for the first time; predominantly in the Italian language area. She got her first film role in 2008 as the leading actress in the short film Professional Woman of the Year . The breakthrough followed in 2009 in the Italian-Russian love film Ten Winter . In 2016 she stood in front of the camera in the television series Braccialetti rossi , which also came to Germany under the title Club der Roten Ribbons .

In the same year - 2016 - she embodied Mary , the mother of Jesus, in the film adaptation of the Bible, The Young Messiah .
