Sara Penzo (born December 16, 1989 in Chioggia ) is an Italian soccer goalie .
Career
societies
Penzo started her football career at the age of seven on the streets of her hometown Chioggia . There she was discovered by the coach of the local soccer club Chioggia Sottomarina and joined the youth there. In the following years, the goalkeeper became a top performer and received an offer from the Venetian club Gordige Calcio Ragazze at the age of fourteen . In 2006 she was appointed to the Serie B team from the youth of her club. A year later, she was on loan from Serie A club Sassari Torres CF , where she won the Italian Cup. After returning to Gordige, she decided to move to Venice and signed for CF Venezia in 1984 . After three years in Venice, Penzo decided on August 22, 2011 to move to the Swiss first division club FC Basel. After she only made six appearances in the National League in Basel, she moved back to Italy on June 15, 2012 for Serie A club ACF Brescia .
National team
In July 2008, she made a significant contribution to winning the 2008 Italian Under-19 European Football Championship for women . Penzo took part in the 2009 European Women's Football Championship in Finland for her home country Italy . She made her debut for the senior national team on September 19, 2012 in Athens in the qualifier for the 2013 European Championship , in a goalless draw against Greece . At the European Championship held in Sweden from July 10 to 28, 2013 , she was a member of the senior national team, but was one of three goalkeepers that did not appear in the tournament.
