Sarah Spale

Sarah Spale-Bühlmann (born December 7, 1980 in Basel ) is a Swiss actress .

Life

Sarah Spale was born in Basel in 1980. Here she grew up and finished her school education with the Matura . At the University of Hildesheim , she began studying cultural studies and aesthetic practice. She then trained as an actress in Baden-Württemberg .

Sarah Spale made her debut in front of the camera in the television film Dilemma . For this role she received a nomination for the Swiss Film Prize in 2003 . In 2008 she played Sophie Preisig in the Swiss television series Day and Night . Spale attracted international attention in her portrayal of Catarina Mendez in the literary adaptation Night Train to Lisbon , directed by director Bille August , alongside leading actors Jeremy Irons , Bruno Ganz and Martina Gedeck . As a theater actress she worked at the Junge Theater Basel and the Hildesheim City Theater, among others .

She has been married to the university sports teacher Philip Spale since 2010. The couple have two sons born in 2010 and 2014.
