Sarah Marie Weiland (born August 13, 1986 in Leicestershire , Great Britain ) is a former German-American volleyball player .

Career

Weiland's parents, a German Bundeswehr pilot and a Mexican US Air Force nurse , met in Arizona and went to Germany. Sarah Weiland was born during a stay in Great Britain. She began her volleyball career at Pflugerville High School. In 2004 she started her studies at Tulane University and played on the university team. A year later, the attacker, who can be used in the diagonal and outer position, moved to the University of Oklahoma , where she was active in the Sooners team. In 2010 the Finnish club Pieksämäki Volley signed the German-American. In 2011 she joined the German Bundesliga at Köpenicker SC for one year . After the season, Weiland ended her volleyball career and went back to the USA.
