Pflugerville is a city in Travis County in the US state of Texas in the United States .
geography
The city is located in central southeast Texas on Farm Road 1825, east of Interstate 35 in the northeast of the county, about 25 km north of Austin and has a total area of 29.4 km 2 . Water bodies in the area of Pflugerville are the artificial lake Lake Pflugerville , which was created in 2005-2006, and the two streams Gilleland Creek and Wilbarger Creek . Lake Pflugerville Park , which opened in 2010, is located on Lake Pflugerville .
history
The place was named after Henry Pfluger , who emigrated with his family from Germany in 1849 and settled here.

According to the 2000 census, 16,335 people lived here in 5,146 households and 4,425 families. The population density was 556.2 people per km 2 . The racial the population was composed of 77.18% White, 9.46% African American, 0.24% Native American, 4.31% Asian, 0.09% Pacific Islander, and 5.99% other ethnic groups. About 2.74% were mixed race and 16.69% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
Of the 5,146 households, 56.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them. 72.4% of them were married couples living together. 10.4% were single mothers and 14.0% were non-families. 10.1% of all households were single households and 1.7% had people living there who were 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.15 and the average family size was 3.39 people.
