The Saria SE & Co. KG (own spelling: SARIA ) based in Selm (Westphalia) is an international service provider in the agriculture and food industry (with a focus on the utilization of products from the meat industry and the food industry), as a producer of new Energies and as a manufacturer of products for human consumption , animal feed , aquaculture and agriculture . Saria is one of the leading companies of its kind and belongs to the family-run Rethmann group.

history

Saria Bio-Industries AG & Co. KG was founded under this company name in 1998 as an independent division of the Rethmann Group in order to bundle all business activities of the company group in the product and service segment, which until then had been Rethmann TBA GmbH & Co. KG were organized. The takeover of the company “Gebr. Schaap ”in Marl (Germany) in 1977. At the time it was founded, there were already seven processing plants in Germany, ten in France (formerly Soporga and SFM ) and one each in Austria, Poland, the Czech Republic and Spain.

The company has grown continuously since 1998 through the development of new business fields, the expansion of existing processing plants and the takeover of other companies in the business fields processed. One milestone, for example, was the commissioning of the first nationwide plant for the production of biodiesel from animal fats in 2001 in Malchin . Further plants followed, with additional vegetable oils being converted into biodiesel.

Corporate structure

The respective national companies are organized under the umbrella of the Saria Group. Around 11,000 employees work for the company in 24 countries at around 200 different locations. In Germany, the operational business is structured as follows:

  • Bioceval GmbH & Co. KG (formerly Vereinigte Fischmehlwerke Cuxhaven GmbH ): Production and distribution of fish meal and fish oil
  • ecoMotion GmbH : Production and distribution of biodiesel from animal fats and vegetable oils
  • Gerlicher GmbH : Fresh oil delivery and old fat collection for the catering and food industry
  • ReFood GmbH & Co. KG : Collection and processing of leftover food from canteens, large kitchens, hotels and restaurants
  • SARVAL GmbH : Collection and processing of bones, fats and rinds
