Sascha Schmid (born November 21, 1993 in Grabs ) is a Swiss politician of the Swiss People's Party (SVP). Since 2016 he has represented the Werdenberg constituency in the St. Gallen Cantonal Council .

Live and act

Schmid grew up as the only son of his parents Ernst and Heidi Schmid (-Ackermann) in Grabs. In 2012, he completed his federal Matura in biology and chemistry at the Sargans Cantonal School . In 2018 he completed his bachelor's degree in business administration at the University of St. Gallen (HSG). Schmid began to be interested in politics at the age of 12, after which he joined the Junge SVP in 2011 . Since 2016 he has headed the Young SVP of the Canton of St. Gallen as President and is a member of the party leadership of the SVP of the Canton of St. Gallen. In 2015, together with Mike Egger, he founded the Safe Borders Association in the Rhine Valley (SGiR), which is committed to strengthening border guards on the eastern border. In February 2016, Sascha Schmid was elected to the St. Gallen Cantonal Council and represents his constituency of Werdenberg in the St. Gallen Cantonal Council.
