Sascha Traut (born May 21, 1985 in Karlsruhe ) is a German football player .

Career

Traut came to Karlsruher SC from SG Siemens Karlsruhe for the 2004/05 season and played a total of 52 games in the Regionalliga Süd for the KSC amateurs , scoring 13 goals. In 2005/06 he played a game in the second Bundesliga for the professionals at Karlsruher SC.

In June 2007 he switched to TuS Koblenz . There he received a two-year contract until June 30, 2009. However, this was terminated on July 14, 2008 to enable Sascha Traut's transfer to the Stuttgarter Kickers . The transfer was part of the swap deal with Mustafa Parmak , who in return moved from the Kickers to Koblenz.

On July 14th, Sascha Traut signed a contract with the Stuttgarter Kickers until June 30th, 2010 in order to play in the newly established 3rd division in the future. After the Stuttgart Kickers were relegated to the regional league, he moved to Wacker Burghausen for the 2009/10 season . After the Upper Bavarians had barely escaped relegation, he fell victim to the large personnel cut after only one year and had to look for the third club in the third year. It was not until the end of August 2010 that he switched to league competitor VfR Aalen . There he needed some time to establish himself, but then, as in the two previous stations, became a regular in midfield. Under the new coach Ralph Hasenhüttl , Traut was deployed on the right defensive side from the spring of 2011, where he proved himself so well that he became a regular there from then on. As one of two players on the team, he played all 38 league games in the following season 2011/12 and was only replaced prematurely once. The Aalen finished the season as second in the table and thus rose to the 2nd Bundesliga . It was the first real promotion for Traut after he was in the squad in the KSC's promotion to the Bundesliga in 2007, but was not used.

For the 2014/15 season, Traut moved back to his training club, the KSC. There he was one of the regular players at the beginning of the season in the position of right-back and showed consistently good performances. In the home game against 1. FC Heidenheim on the 4th day of the season, however, he tore a cruciate ligament after a duel with Marc Schnatterer and was out for the rest of the season. His place as right-back was taken by Enrico Valentini , who became one of the top performers. After successful rehab, Traut returned to team training in preparation for the 2015/16 season, but suffered an inner ligament injury before he could play another game. It wasn't until the 17th matchday of the 2015/16 season that Traut made his comeback in the game against Arminia Bielefeld when he came on for Manuel Torres after receiving a yellow-red card for Enrico Valentini . However, his contract, which expired at the end of the season in summer 2016, was not extended.

For the 2016/17 season, Traut moved to league rivals Würzburger Kickers , where he was only used in six games during the first half of the season. During the winter break, Traut and the Kickers then terminated the contract. Traut then returned to Aalen after two and a half years and joined VfR Aalen, which in the meantime played in the third division again.
