Manuel Torres Jiménez (born January 5, 1991 in La Algaba , Seville province ) is a Spanish football player . His preferred position is the offensive midfield , but he can also be used in the outer positions.
Career
Torres played for Betis Sevilla in his youth . In the summer of 2010 he moved to Villarreal , where he was part of the second team. In the first half of the 2010/11 season he came there to two missions in the Segunda División . For the second half, he moved to the second team of RCD Mallorca in the Segunda División B . After six months he moved to the second team at FC Schalke 04 , where he developed into a regular player. Due to a squad that had been decimated by injuries, Torres was in the first team's squad for the home game against Bayer 04 Leverkusen on April 13, 2013 , but was not used. At the end of the contract period in Gelsenkirchen, he joined the second division promoted Karlsruher SC for the 2013/14 season . On August 16, 2013 (4th matchday) he made his debut in the second highest division when he was substituted on for Gaetan Krebs in the 88th minute in the 1: 2 defeat in the home game against SpVgg Greuther Fürth . He scored his first goal for Karlsruhe on October 20, 2013 (11th match day) in a 2-2 away game against 1. FC Kaiserslautern with the goal to make it 1-1 in the 40th minute.
After Torres hardly played in the 2016/17 season due to injury, he moved to SpVgg Greuther Fürth after the KSC was relegated to the 3rd division . On July 29, 2017 (1st matchday) he played his first competitive game in the 0-1 defeat in the away game against SV Darmstadt 98 when he came on for Marco Caligiuri in the 80th minute of the game .
During the winter break of the 2017/18 season , he joined the Cypriot first division club AEL Limassol .
Style of play
Torres can be used variably. He favors the position in the central offensive midfield ( tens ), but can also be used in the right midfield or as a right winger. His strengths are his speed, endurance and running strength.
