The Saskatchewan Glacier is a glacier located in Banff National Park in Alberta , the westernmost of Canada's Prairie Provinces , about 120 km from the city of Banff .
The Saskatchewan Glacier is an outlet glacier of the Columbia Icefield in the Canadian Rockies . The glacier is an important source of water for the North Saskatchewan River . It is about 15 km long and covers an area of 30 km². Between the years 1893 and 1953, the glacier receded by 1,364 m in the course of global glacier melt .
