Enrique Pélach y Feliú , also Enrique Pélach y Feliu , Catalan Enric Pèlach i Feliu (born October 3, 1917 in Anglès in the province of Girona in Catalonia , † July 19, 2007 in Abancay ) was Bishop of Abancay in the Peruvian region of Apurímac .

Life

Enrique Pelach y Feliú received after attending the seminary in Girona and studying at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome on 6 January 1944, the priestly ordination . From 1957 he was active in the mission, initially in the newly established Yauyos Territorial Prelature , whose Vicar General Pélach was. He spoke local Quechua and translated parts of the Bible .

On June 20, 1968 he was appointed by Pope Paul VI. appointed Bishop of Abancay . The Peruvian military archbishop Alcides Mendoza Castro donated him the episcopal ordination on July 14th of the same year. Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Chiclayo , Ignacio María de Orbegozo y Goicoechea , and the Prelate of Yauyos , Luis Sánchez-Moreno Lira .

On December 1, 1992, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
