Isidro Sala Ribera

Isidro Sala Ribera (born March 3, 1933 in Bergús near Cardona ; † March 26, 2019 ) was a Spanish clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Abancay in Peru .

Life

Isidro Sala Ribera was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Solsona on July 28, 1958 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him on October 18, 1986 auxiliary bishop in Abancay and titular bishop of Cluentum . The Bishop of Chiclayo , Ignacio María de Orbegozo y Goicoechea , ordained him episcopal on December 14th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Juan Antonio Ugarte Pérez , auxiliary bishop in Cuzco , and Enrique Pélach y Feliú , bishop of Abancay.

On April 7, 1990, he was appointed Coadjutor Bishop of Abancay. With the retirement of Enrique Pélach y Feliús on December 1, 1992 he succeeded him as Bishop of Abancay. On June 20, 2009, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related retirement.
