Gilberto Gómez González (born February 12, 1952 in Albeos , Spain ) is Bishop of Abancay .

Life

Gilberto Gómez González received on 14 September 1975, the sacrament of Holy Orders . He was a teacher of Spanish language and Spanish literature at the Small Seminary of the Diocese of Tui-Vigo . He has been working in Peru since 1986. He was pastor in the Diocese of Abancay and rector first of the local seminary , then of the seminary .

On 22 December 2001 appointed him Pope John Paul II. To the titular of Mozotcori and ordered him to auxiliary bishop in Abancay. The Bishop of Abancay, Isidro Sala Ribera , donated him episcopal ordination on March 16 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the bishop emeritus of Abancay, Enrique Pélach y Feliú , and the apostolic nuncio in Peru , Archbishop Rino Passigato . On June 20, 2009 Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . to the Bishop of Abancay.
