history

Development of membership numbers

The diocese of Tui-Vigo was established in the 6th century as the diocese of Tui and subordinated to the archdiocese of Braga as a suffragan . On February 27, 1120, the Diocese of Tui was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Santiago de Compostela as a suffragan. The diocese of Tui was renamed the Diocese of Tui-Vigo on March 9, 1959 .
