The Roman Catholic Diocese of Salamanca ( Latin Dioecesis Salmantina , Spanish diócesis de Salamanca ) is one in Spain situated Roman Catholic diocese , based in Salamanca .

history

The diocese of Salamanca was established in the 10th century and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Mérida as a suffragan . In 1120 the Diocese of Salamanca was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Santiago de Compostela as a suffragan. The diocese of Salamanca was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Valladolid as a suffragan on July 4, 1857 .
