The Roman Catholic Diocese of Ciudad Real ( Latin Dioecesis Civitatis Regalensis , Spanish diócesis de Ciudad Real ) is one in Spain situated Roman Catholic diocese , based in Ciudad Real .
history
The diocese Ciudad Real was on November 18, 1875 by Pope Pius IX. established with the Apostolic Constitution Ad Apostolicam as the territorial prelature of Ciudad Real . On February 4, 1980, the territorial prelature Ciudad Real was raised to a diocese by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Constat militarium and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Toledo as a suffragan .
