The Spanish Military Ordinary is the military ordinariate in Spain and is responsible for the Spanish Armed Forces .
history
The Spanish Military Ordinary takes care of members of the Spanish armed forces of Catholic denominations. It was made by Pope Pius XII. established on August 5, 1950 as a military vicariate . By mutual agreement between the Holy See and the Kingdom of Spain, the seat of the Spanish military ordinariate is in Madrid . It was raised to a diocese on July 21, 1986 by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Spirituali militum curae .
