Narciso de Esténaga y Echevarría

Narciso de Esténaga y Echevarría (born October 29, 1882 in Logroño , † August 22, 1936 in Peralvillo ) was bishop and blessed of the Roman Catholic Church in Spain.

Life

After his ordination in 1905, he was appointed prelate of the territorial prelature Ciudad Real and titular bishop of Dora in 1922. On July 26, 1923, he received the episcopal ordination through Cardinal Enrique Reig y Casanova . He held this office until his death in the Spanish Civil War in 1936. Together with his secretary, Julio Melgar Salgado, he was murdered on August 22, 1936.

On October 28, 2007 he was in Rome with other victims of the Spanish Civil War by Benedict XVI. beatified .
