Gerardo Melgar Viciosa (born September 24, 1948 in Cervatos de la Cueza , Spain ) is a Spanish clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Ciudad Real .

Life

Gerardo Melgar Viciosa received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Palencia on June 20, 1973 .

On May 1, 2008 Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . to the bishop of Osma-Soria . The Apostolic Nuncio in Spain, Archbishop Manuel Monteiro de Castro , donated him episcopal ordination on July 6 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Palencia, Rafael Palmero , and the Archbishop of Burgos , Francisco Gil Hellín .

Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Ciudad Real on April 8, 2016 . The inauguration took place on May 21 of the same year.
