Ivo Baldi Gaburri

Ivo Baldi Gaburri (born March 27, 1947 in Città di Castello , Perugia province , † June 11, 2021 in Huaraz , Ancash region , Peru ) was an Italian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Huari .

Life

His parents were the metalworker Domenico Baldi and Anna Gaburri, workers in a tobacco factory. Ivo Baldi Gaburri attended the Scuola elementare San Filippo and the Scuola media Dante Alighieri as well as later the small seminar in Città di Castello. He then studied philosophy and Catholic theology at the Pio XI regional seminary in Assisi . Baldi Gaburri received on October 9, 1971 in the cathedral of Città di Castello by the auxiliary bishop in Perugia and apostolic administrator of Città di Castello, Diego Parodi MCCJ , the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Città di Castello .

Baldi Gaburri initially worked as parish vicar at the cathedral of Città di Castello and was responsible for the youth groups of the aid organization Operazione Mato Grosso (OMG) before he became the personal secretary of the Bishop of Città di Castello, Cesare Pagani . In 1975 Ivo Baldi Gaburri was sent to Peru as a Fidei Donum priest , where he worked as a pastor in Psicobamba (1975–1988) and in San Marcos (1988–1991). He then became the rain of the Señor de Pomallucay seminary of the Huari Territorial Prelature in San Luis de Chuquipampa . Baldi Gaburri was later vicar general of the Huari Territorial Prelature.

Pope . John Paul II appointed him on 14 December 1999. Bishop of Huaraz and donated him on 6 January 2000 in St. Peter's Basilica , the episcopal ordination ; Co-consecrators were Archbishop of the Curia Giovanni Battista Re , substitute for the State Secretariat , and Archbishop of Curia Marcello Zago OMI , Secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples . The inauguration took place on March 25 of the same year.

Ivo Baldi Gaburri was appointed prelate of Huari on February 4, 2004, and was introduced to the office on May 29 of the same year. With the elevation of the territorial prelature Huari to the diocese on April 2, 2008 he was by Benedict XVI. appointed first bishop of Huari. The inauguration took place on June 8 of the same year.

Ivo Baldi Gaburri died on June 11, 2021 in the Clinica San Pablo in Huaraz as a result of COVID-19 .
